THE DIRTY ROYALS
The Dirty Royals, an Anglo-American band, was born in 2005 in California. Inspired by the Los Angeles sunshine and late nights at the Sunset Marquis Hotel Bar, the founding members of The Samurai Seven decided to form a new band, recruiting the talents of a new drummer from Los Angeles. They developed their LA sound but retained their Oxford accents. This heady cocktail has gathered fans on both sides of the Atlantic, playing shows from California to the Mid-West and across the UK. The Samurai Seven had already achieved success in the UK and Japan with the release of several singles and their sold out CD release of Le Sport. Playing regularly to full venues as well as having the honor of being one of the late John Peel's, (of BBC 1 fame), favorite bands, after landing in sunny California in August 2005 as invited guests of International Pop Overthrow LA/SF where they played to a very approving crowd and rocked the festival and went on to play several successful gigs in LA, SF and Santa Cruz. In September 2005 The Band was invited to Mid Point Music Festival (MPMF) in Cincinnati and with their new found energy they played to a packed to capacity crowd at Neons Courtyard rocking the joint and garnering rave reviews. They are currently negotiating a Far East Tour for Summer 2006. In between they will be completing their first EP as the Dirty Royals scheduled to be released in April 2006 both in the Summer of 2006.
