Hi, Tony here, 36 from Kent.
My big brother introduced me to the Faith Brothers when I was an impressionable young lad and Billys great music and lyrics have stuck with me ever since. I still remember the night he took me to Camden see Billy - seems like a lifetime ago now! Eventide is still one of my most treasured vinyls and I just thank the power of the internet as I have found this site and can rekindle my passion for Billy!
Keep the Faith!
Tony

Hi, I'm Mark, and the first time I heard the Faith Brothers, was on Channel 4's "The Tube" performing "Country of the blind" . I first saw them play live at Guildford Civic Hall as the first support for Julian Cope, ( Crazyhead were second - I so wished that they had played a longer set and Crazyhead hadn't bothered!) I'm trying to find out where to download "Eventide" from, as i'm not sure the exact whereabouts of my vinyl copy is or the condition of it! (And, like alot of people, I have long since ditched the record player!!!)

Hello all,
Well this is a serious blast from the past and I am loving it! My heart is still in London but I am now married and living in Bolton. It was Eventide that introduced me to the Faith Brothers, I worked as Asst Manager at NSS Newsagents in Notting Hill Gate and lived on Finborough Rd, Earls Court with my mum. Early starts a plenty and I heard Eventide on radio 1, within a couple of hours I had picked the album up. It was fantastic. If anyone can let me know where I can pickup a cd or mp3's of the albums can you, I am quite happy to pay for them. I am well pleased that Billy has carried on, there was a rawness about the sound and that is far from a criticism.
Thanks all
Clive

Hi, My name is Liam, I have "refound" the faith brothers / billy franks sound in the past 6 months, I think Isolato is a classic and when i first heard the acoustic sung version of Eventide was stunned. Sort of lost track from the mid 90s onwards, my misfortune. Somehow songwriting's lost art needs to be reawakened, plan on seeing BF at this years shepherds empire gig. Other music i'm into ... bruce springsteen, south side johnny, steve earle, stone roses and recently glasvegas

It's great to find some new music to love. Bought the CD and listened on the way home too and it's ace! There, I've said my piece

Hi and thanks for the welcome. I shall take a look at the website. Have listened to the CD 3 times so far and it is getting better each time I listen. My current fave track is 'In the absence of love' Could you help me with a couple of questions? Which CD has the scared art of leaving on it and is there anything you would recommend that is a bit more accousitic? I really enjoy the CD but I did like the accoustic stuff he did last night too and would like to hear more like that too

The Sacred Art of Leaving is on the album: Sex, Laughter, Meditation. I think you'd really love that album, and of course the others! Personally I love them all like most folks on this forum. Billy is playing at Shepherds Bush Empire in London on 6 June, I suspect you are in Scotland but people are travelling from all over to be there so hope you can make it?? There is a link for tickets on the main website: www.billyfranks.comBest wishes xx

The strangest thing happened to me this morning. I woke to the sounds of "A Boy and a river' ringing around my head. Haven't heard this for what must be 25yrs now. If anyone knows where I can download a copy of 'A Human Sound' then It would be greatly appreciated as I now live in the Middle East where good music is pretty hard to find.
I have fond memories of seeing the Faith Brothers on many occasions and was even made Tea by Billy & Lee at the Fulham Court home after a cancelled "Save Fulham Court' Gig. Happy Times indeed

Hi, my name is Mel and I'm 47 years old. I have just rediscovered the Faith Brothers' music and I have to say that it is incredibly timeless stuff! I've revisited a lot of the 80s stuff I used to like and some of it is very dated but Billy's writing is still as brilliant now as it was when I first heard it. I came across the Faith Brothers via 'Country Of The Blind' in 1985. I was living in a pokey bedsit in Swaythling in Southampton at that time and that song came on the radio one morning when I was getting ready for work. I went straight to the local record store and bought the double single and got a serious bollocking for being late! Worth it though, and I'd do it again! Fantastic stuff! Is there anywhere where I can get chords/tabs to Billy's FB and solo stuff? I realise there may be a page on this forum for that very purpose but I don't seem to be able to find it. I used to play 'Easter Parade' all those years ago but I'd love to have a go at some FB stuff via the official chords, I've googled it but not had any luck, is there anything? Cheers, Mel.
